We held our usual Information Session for all courses in 2008 on Saturday December 8 at the Ensemble Theatre. We were happy to welcome prospective students who attended (some with family members or friends) and to answer questions they had regarding the courses on offer and the school in general.
We were thrilled to have some of our past graduates present, including Lorraine Bayly, Michael Ross, Lenore Smith, Catherine McGraffin and Margaret McManus - (thanks for giving up your Saturday morning, folks - it's always so good to see you!). Some of these will join other Ensemble graduates in a bumper year of shows at the Ensemble Theatre in 2008 to celebrate the theatre's 50th birthday!
We received apologies from other other graduates who were unable to attend due to work commitments elsewhere, including Tony Martin who was winging his way back to London (our loss is London's gain!).
The session opened with an extract from Acting Up! - the documentary about the Ensemble Studios made in 2006 - followed by a presentation of the curriculum and details of courses. Then graduates shared their experiences - both from their student days and various work projects on stage and in front of a camera.
Following the presentation in the Ensemble Theatre auditorium, the principal Zika Nester, staff members and current students joined our visitors for a casual chat over a cuppa and some tasty home-baked goodies (thank-you, Barbara Nagel!) while enjoying the view of the Harbour from the upstairs foyer.
